We\u2019re happy to spread the word!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We received the following notification from Dr Amber Young recently and are happy to spread the word. Amber writes;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe COSB (Core Outcome Set for Burn care research) study, is being carried out by Dr Amber Young at the University of Bristol, and aims to identify a minimum set of the most important outcomes to be reported in trials of interventions for patients with burn injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A systematic review has found considerable variation both what is measured across trials, and also how outcomes are measured. By standardising what is measured and how it is measured we can gather data across trials more effectively to identify the best treatments for patients.<\/p>\n<p>We need your help to identify these important outcomes. We would like to hear from clinicians working in burn care, including doctors, nurses, therapists, anaesthetists, intensivists and ED specialists to complete an online survey about what they think is most important to measure in burns trials.<\/p>\n<p>We are also recruiting patients who have had a burn injury who are aged 10 and above, and parents of children who have had a burn injury.<\/p>\n<p>The short 3-minute video <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9DYH072uPrQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> explains the survey in more detail.<\/p>\n<p>And the survey can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/is.gd\/cosbresearch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We have had a fantastic response to this work: over 440 clinicians and patients have participated in the survey, from over 25 countries. We will be closing the survey to new recruits in April 2019.
