The International Society for Burn Injury (ISBI) have published their practice guidelines for burn care specialists all over the world. These new practice guidelines clearly highlight the importance of the use of our laser Doppler imagers for the early accurate diagnosis of burn depth:
“Q: How can a deep partial thickness burn be differentiated from a more superficial burn early after an injury?
A: The standard of care for accurate diagnosis of a deep partial thickness (deep dermal) burn early after an injury is the laser Doppler scanner.”
