The 2018 Northeast Region Burn Conference will be held in historic Cambridge, MA November 9-10. According to the regions website – “this year, Steven E. Wolf, MD, FACS from University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston will open the meeting. There will be presentations and discussion related to the opioid crisis and definitive care provided in the burn center. They will have discussions around new innovations in burn care and the use of lasers.” Moor Instruments plays a vital partnership role with burn center teams using our laser Doppler burn systems in clinical care.

We are happy to showcase a non profit group The Trauma Survivors Foundation who among other things help firefighters, Police and EMS with scholarships to attend approved training classes. They train emergency service personnel to provide crisis intervention when a traumatic event occurs. Please view their website: www.thetraumasurvivorsfoundation.com.

The Cambridge area of Boston offers visitors a lot of US historical treasures including Harvard, MIT and the Longfellow House to name a few. There are many outstanding museums, restaurants and a vibrant arts scene too. Although the Celtics are playing away, the Bruins have two home games that weekend. They play Vancouver on Nov 8th and Toronto on Nov 10th. The city will be buzzing with Boston fans!

The Northeast Region Burn Conference has something to offer everyone in the burn care family including OT, PT, first responders, survivors, pain management, burn center teams and others. We look forward to seeing everyone at the conference!
